INTER LEVEL(SECOND HURDLE)
WHAT
IS INTER?
In this level there are total 8 papers each
of 100 marks which are divided into two groups, Group1 consist of 4 exams and
Group2 consist of 4 exams. A student needs to clear both the groups with at
least 50% marks in both the groups i.e. 200/400 to move on final level. And
also, in every paper at least 40% marks i.e. 40/100. The subjects are:-
GROUP 1 |
GROUP2 |
·
ACCOUNTING |
·
ADVANCE ACCOUNTING |
·
CORPORATE AND OTHER LAWS |
·
AUDITING AND ASSURANCE |
·
COST & MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING |
·
ENTERPRISE INFO. SYSTEM AND STARTEGIC
MANAGEMENT |
·
TAXATION |
·
FIN. MNGMT. AND ECO. FOR FINANCE |
After clearing either any one of the group or
both the group, a student needs to start his article ship for 3 years. After
completing the foundation exam now, I have to focused on second hurdle i.e.
inter examination which was to be held in nov.2019. when the course was
restructured by the institute the major changes was introduced in inter exam
such as introduction of new subjects, topics, chapters of final level which
makes the syllabus too vast. The moment I cleared foundation exam in jan.2019
one thing I decided that although I had cleared foundation with self-study but
this cannot be work in inter exam. To clear inter exam in first attempt I need
to take coaching classes as this will help me get better understanding of the
subjects and also, I will be able to clear it in one go. Here also one thing
which I decided that I will never go to Laxmi nagar (the hub of ca classes) for
coaching rather I will try to find a coaching nearby my area.
MY
FIRST MISTAKE IN INTER
I joined
a coaching class for tax and cost subjects and started from the first day
feb.2019. I continue there for 2 weeks but I observe many difficulties and
problems, such as:-
·
There were only two teachers who
managing the whole institute and only one of them was a chartered accountant.
·
There was no specification for
professional students’ classes, all the students pursuing graduation either
from regular college or distance learning was combined with us.
·
Each class was around for 1-1:30 hr.
maximum, that arises doubt in mind whether they will complete my syllabus
within time?
·
Cost teacher was teaching us questions
only of graduation level and not of ca level.
·
Tax teacher has directly moved to 5th
chapter rather than to start from the basics of income tax.
·
They do not have any material for ca
students.
·
What I observe that both the teachers
were teaching from the graduation point of view and not from the ca level.
Because of the above reason lots of doubts
has arises in my mind whether the decision to join here was correct or not? So,
I quit there and decided to continue on self -basis.
FIRST
EXPERIENCE IN LAXMI NAGAR
So,
one day in feb,2019 I went with my friend to Laxmi nagar for buying books for
self-study. This was the first time that I had visited to Laxmi nagar, although
I had visited one time before yet with my college friends in graduation time
but that was just for taking photocopy notes of my friend. When I reach to Laxmi
nagar what I saw was totally new for
me:-
·
Thousands of students, teachers,
professionals I can see at one place.
·
In every window of buildings, there
used to be a coaching class for CA/CS/CMA.
·
Almost all famous CA faculties were
teaching there.
·
There are countless coaching classes
for professional courses in commerce.
While
moving on the road to reach at a stationary shop many pamphlets distributor was
there for coaching advertisement. Many of them pamphlets was collected by me
for inquiry purpose and also, I visited in an institute for getting detailed
information about the fees of course, duration of the course etc. when I enter
in the office of the institute the owner was sitting in their office. I went
into the office sit on the chair, she firstly asked from me about my foundation
marks, graduation status, my residence etc. when I said I had completed my
graduation and also, I cleared foundation on the basis of self-study, she
appraised my hard work. Then she speaks about the duration of the course, about
the faculties, fees and offer me first to take some demo classes and watch
videos on YouTube then take decision. At that time, I was in confusing
situation and doubting myself whether I will be able to clear this level on my
own? I make up my mind first to take some demo classes and watch some videos of
faculties on YOUTUBE then I will decide whether to join it or not? After took
exit from the institute I went to a stationary shop just on the right side of
the institute and buy two books for self-study i.e. accounts and cost because I
think to do this two subjects on my own and took class of tax and law subjects.
FIRST
DAY OF COACHING IN LAXMI NAGAR
I
exactly remember on the first day of taking demo class I was feeling so excited
and also some nervousness in my mind because this was the first time in my life
that I am going too far from home for taking coaching. I left home at 6:30 am
because I had to reach there at 8:00am, it will take around 1:45 min. to reach
there and also, I had change three metros. Finally, I reach there on time at
the office building of the institute and from there the senior non-teaching
staff member take me to with him to the building where classes were starting.
When I enter in the classroom what I seen was totally new for me:-
·
The classroom space was huge that
capacity of 100 students.
·
Many chairs were arranged there in a
systematically manner.
·
Few students were also there
discussing with each other. Some of them was discussing with the teacher.
·
2 non-teaching staff members was busy
in arranging set up for recording class table chair for teacher.
·
Green sheet on the back side of the
teacher, so that they can change the background in recorded class.
·
One camera in the front of the
teacher, one mike, register for teacher, this whole environment was totally new
for me. First time in my life I will see how online classes was recorded.
FIRST
EXPEREINCE OF SUBJECTS WITH FACULTY
COST
& MANAGEMENT CLASS
The first class which I take was of costing.
The faculty was so humble and so kind to all the students. Before starting the class,
he creates a friendly environment and makes every student relax and calm so
that they can pay their full attention and study with 100% focus. He started
from the basics of the topic and then move step by step to advance level. His
teaching methodology was so simple and easy so that every student can
understand the topic. The whole class was of 3:00 hour including of 10 min and
at 11:00 am the class was over. break. His is very punctual of his time and
tries to cover maximum part. This is the first time I had took continue class
for one subject. He also did not give any homework but only said to revise
complete what was done in class. Also, in the last 10 min. he revises the
summary of the whole what was done in class.
CORPORATE
& OTHER LAWS CLASS
This
is the second class and also the most awaited class for me because I already
had watched some videos on YouTube. what I find is that sir’s teaching style
was so interesting and learning for all the students. Also, before come to the
class I read the profile of sir which was so impressive for me because he is
qualified chartered accountant as well as a lawyer from Faculty of Law, University
of Delhi. This is unbelievable for me that how one person can achieve two
professional degree. I am eagerly waiting for the sir class. When he entered
into the class the whole environment was set to be a different level. His
teaching style was so good and to the exam point. Sir designed his book in a
very comprehensive manner which includes all past year questions along with
their answers in a sequential manner and also in a very simple language. He
also tries to keep smile on his and his students faces during the whole class.
In law many students face this difficulty that they will not be able remember
section no., provision, or forget key points, did not know how to present
answer in exam. Well this all also in my case although I cleared foundation but
till now I sacred of law because I don’t know how to deal with this subject.
But after taking first class of sir I found yes that I can deal with it easily.
He never let any student bore in his class and one interesting fact that the
maximum time allotted for one class is 3hr but sir will end his class with
2-2:30 hr including 20 min. break. One thing here I would like to mentioned
here is that that law sir is always be a motivational source for me, his
dedication towards teaching and his subject encourage us to do more, push our
limits every time.
ACCOUNTING
CLASS
He is the most senior teachers I think in
terms of age as well as qualifications. He is the only faculty have completed
CA/CS/CMA along with MBA and Graduation. He possesses vast knowledge of
accounting theoretical as well as practical. His teaching style was simplest
among all the faculties. One thing I assure to every student that if you want
to get exemption in accounting just complete sir’s book questions 3-4 times. He
designed his book in a very comprehensive manner which includes all type of
questions starting from basic to advance level.
TAXATION
CLASS
Sir is one of the most favourite teacher of
mine, I can say he is the face of the institute on YouTube. He posse’s vast
knowledge, experience and understanding of his subject in terms of theoretical
as well as practical. Sir’s teaching style is very interesting and sensible. He
always tries to give examples from real world, logical explanation of every
provision, section, rule and law for better understanding of the students. As
tax is a subject which directly affect in real life of peoples, it requires for
a teacher to connect theory with practical world and sir doing his job very
well. Although I had taken class for tax subject in graduation but I never
thought I can have experience of tax in a totally new way. When I take sir
first class, I was so surprised that how a teacher with this subject can
connect with the students so easily. He always maintains a healthy discussions
with students and suggest him various things for future. He is a real-life
example of what a person can do on his
own. He never takes any coaching in ca course, also he gets AIR(All India Rank)
in intermediate on the basis of self-study only. He always focusses on covering
all the topics of the subject. Sir’s behaviour is very funny in the class as
well as outside the class which makes him one of the most interesting teacher
and favourite teacher for many of the students. Sir is also a motivational source
for many students.
EXPEREINCE
WITH STUDENTS IN COACHING
When I take the first class, I thought that
some students are below from me in terms of age and qualification and some were
above from me in both the two aspects. But after 2-3 classes what I realize is
that the reality what was totally different. Almost 99% of the students are
below from my age i.e. 17-19 years and currently in the 1st year of
graduation, where my age is 21 and a graduate. Only one student was there who
is graduated after me and enter in ca through direct entry route. After seeing
that I was now have a doubt in my mind, am I enter late into this course?
Sometime I feel so uncomfortable when I saw their faces after knowing that I
had completed my graduation already! That was not only matter, also when they
came to know that I give foundation also, they see me as a silly person. They
think I made a wrong decision, rather I have to enter through direct entry
route. Many time in class one or two students try to advise me that I had not
made a smart decision. But after that slowly-slowly time was past, things
become normal. I had made some friends and enjoy their company. We enjoyed each
and every day of class and each other company. I think when you are in the same
class, age doesn’t matter. In the end I can say that over-all it was an good
experience for every student. We all have learned so much in that time period
and I don’t think that anyone in the class will forget the friends that he/she
make in class.
MY
INTER JOURNEY
I had started my coaching from feb, 2019,
which was well within time and in my favour. Now I have 9 months period of time
in my exams to be held in nov.2019.
During this 9 months I studied very hard with full dedication and
seriousness. I prepare short notes for tax, law, audit subjects give test
seriously and cover almost 60-70% of every subject. My full day schedule was to
be like from 8:00am my first class to 11:00 am and from 11:30 am to 2:30pm or 3:00pm
second class especially in tax class sometime it will end at 4:00pm. Classes
were held 7days in a week. During this 9 months I had made so many sacrifices
like:-
·
I did not watch any movie in theatre.
·
I did not attend any family function.
·
I
spend very less time with my friends on normal days but only Sunday I
meet with them on cricket ground.
·
I
did not talk too much with my friends, relatives, cousins on mobile
phone.
·
Also, I maintain a distance from
social networking sites such as Facebook, WhatsApp etc.
During
my exams time I found that I am not giving my best into studies. I did not give
equal weightage to every subject. I took very lightly the exam pressure and did
not be serious at that time, especially in last two exams. I give my exams with
the best I can do but some where I know in my mind that I will not be able to
clear both the groups in first shot. When result in feb,3,2020 luckily, I
cleared group1 with 50% only or at the edge of passing marks but in group2 I
clear 3exams(with exemption in EIS & SM) but I failed in 1 exam(F.M &
ECO) by 7 marks. this result was so surprised for me and I couldn’t believe on
this what was happened with me. This was the first time in my life that I had
taste failure in main examination ever. At that time, I don’t know whether I
have to happy on this or sad. Because I cleared 7 out of 8 exams but just
because I had failed in 1 exam I also had to give 2 more exams, because the of
the criteria set by the institute i.e. if you failed in any of the one paper of
a group then you have to reappear in that group but paper in which you got more
than 60% marks will be exempted. So now I had again appeared for inter exam
group2 but only for 3 exams.
MISTAKES
I COMMITED IN INTER EXAM TIME
·
I took exam pressure to lightly and
did not give my 100% or my best in few exams.
·
I believe on teacher videos on YouTube
but did not believe on myself.
·
I totally dependent on coaching
teachers and minimize my own efforts.
·
In last two exams I was over confident
because of extra time I get.
·
I did not practice questions provided in the study
material of the institute.
· I was over confident on presentations made by me in answer sheets.
In the next part, I will share with you rest of my CA-INTER journey i.e. How I cleared my group-2 and articleship training journey. Till then good bye.
MORALE :- "Don't doubt on your self, believe in self is the 1st step towards success."
